Never pay an up-front for a loan. We get multiple calls everyday from consumers who fall into this trap. A consumer called us with a sad story. She was desperate for a personal loan to help her family. She contacted a company that told her she was approved for $5000.00. All she had to do was prove she could afford the monthly payment by sending in 2 payments before securing the loan. When she tried to call back the number was disconnected. She contacted every agency to help her out. They couldn’t do anything except apologize that she lost her money.
